Compare connection-only and wider renewal
| Design | Ordinary removal question | Boundary to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Limited connection project | Which finishes and fittings change around the separately designed connection? | Most rooms and their finishes |
| One redundant kitchen removed | Which cabinets, fixtures and layers leave after trade preparation? | Useful rooms on both sides |
| Coordinated interior renewal | Which floors, ceilings and assessed room divisions change together? | Shared building elements and designated retained rooms |
The comparison is illustrative. A wider renewal is not automatically necessary because two suites become one.
Follow finishes through the combined plan
Flooring may differ between suites or stop at former room boundaries. A removed kitchen can expose unfinished areas beneath cupboards. The receiving installer determines whether and how those areas join the future finish; removal alone cannot promise a continuous matching result.
Ceiling edges and attached joinery need the same attention. Describe the actual endpoint on each side rather than assuming the suites have identical construction.
