Start with the pipework team's access requirement
Ask the responsible team to show the route and required access in each affected room. Do not infer an opening from a pipe's apparent position. Record whether the work needs a local cabinet removal, a defined wall opening or wider access through a room.
The plumbing contractor may include openings and reinstatement in its own contract. Confirm the division of work before requesting a separate demolition package, so the same task is not assigned twice.
Illustrative building-stack comparison
| Suite condition | Possible interior-removal question | Separate plumbing responsibility |
|---|---|---|
| Pipe route behind a vanity | Which fixed cabinet and finishes obstruct access? | Isolation and pipe replacement |
| Route behind a wall lining | What precise opening does the design require? | Route, connection and system testing |
| Altered room layout | Does access need a different removal boundary? | Acceptance of the actual service arrangement |
This table is a comparison of questions, not instructions to cut into walls. Shared systems and unknown materials require the appropriate professional assessment.
Do not copy the first suite blindly
One apartment may have original cabinetry while another has a deeper replacement unit or changed wall finish. Compare those exceptions against the same plumbing requirement. Similar floor plans do not prove identical access conditions.
The multiple vacant-apartment guide covers wider refurbishment packages. Riser renewal has a narrower purpose: providing the agreed access for a shared-system replacement.
Define the receiving and restored conditions
Describe the condition the plumber receives after removal and separately assign cabinet replacement, wall repair, finishing and any required assembly reinstatement. Clearpath's ordinary interior-demolition scope does not imply plumbing, temporary water provision or responsibility for resident arrangements.
Management and the project team determine suite access, retained areas and the release of work locations. Avoid assuming that an agreed opening also establishes continued occupancy or resident-security arrangements.
Request the separately allocated removal
Contact Clearpath with the building, affected room types and the pipework team's access information. Identify who is coordinating the programme, the known suite exceptions and which removal tasks are actually being procured separately.
