Begin with the actual release
Ask the responsible restoration and professional teams to identify the released area, remaining restrictions and unresolved material, structural or drying questions. A room that looks clear is not proof that every condition has been addressed.
This guide does not offer emergency response, remediation, insurer approval or a method for handling affected materials. Clearpath's interior-demolition service is considered here for a separately assessed ordinary removal package.
Separate recovery from elective changes
| Proposed work | Question for the project lead | Demolition boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Removal required by the recovery plan | Who owns it and what release applies? | Keep within the specialist-led scope |
| Wider finish renewal | Which unaffected surfaces does the owner choose to change? | Define a separate ordinary removal extent |
| Revised room layout | Which design decisions are approved? | Assess ordinary fit-out around separately reviewed structure and systems |
Do not combine these categories merely to produce one room total. They can have different authorisation, assessment and receiving-trade requirements.
Illustrative connected-room comparison
Imagine a professionally released kitchen area beside an unaffected dining room. One proposal replaces only the released kitchen interiors. Another also renews the dining floor and removes an assessed non-structural partition as part of a separate design change.
The second proposal adds elective work and retained-room interfaces. It should be recorded explicitly rather than attributed to the loss. This is a planning illustration, not a Clearpath project or insurance assessment.
Agree what the rebuilding contractor receives
The builder identifies remaining repair, inspection, service and finishing tasks. Ordinary removal should have a defined endpoint that does not certify drying, remediation completion or structural adequacy.
Use the moisture and removal sequencing guide for the distinction between a reported condition and an ordinary finish-removal request. If earlier demolition is incomplete, the remaining-work assessment guide helps record its current physical state.
Request only the released, defined portion
Discuss the ordinary removal with Clearpath, identifying the property, restoration lead, release boundaries and proposed elective changes. Keep outstanding specialist conditions visible so they are not mistaken for accepted demolition work.
