Establish which instructions are current
Ask the authorised project lead for the latest drawings, changes and outstanding professional findings. Distinguish work completed from work accepted by the receiving contractor. An old schedule or another contractor's instruction does not establish that the same scope can resume today.
The new assessment does not transfer warranties, approvals or liability. Those matters stay with the appropriate contracting and professional parties.
Walk the remaining work by condition
| Current condition | Record for assessment | Question to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| Untouched assembly | Room and proposed removal depth | Does the current design still require removal? |
| Partially removed assembly | What remains and adjoining retained elements | What professional assessment or preparation is outstanding? |
| Debris or stored components | Location and known origin | Is it waste, retained material or awaiting classification? |
| Exposed retained surface | Visible condition and receiving trade | What remains removal, and what is repair or rebuilding? |
Do not disturb unknown materials to complete this record. Structure, services and material concerns need their responsible assessors before affected work is released.
Three illustrative reasons a package changes
A commercial handover may leave agreed rooms untouched because access was never released. The new package needs those rooms assessed, without assuming the rest of the original work repeats.
A design change may retain a wall previously marked for removal while adding a different cupboard or floor area. The current drawing must replace conflicting instructions before the remaining quantities are discussed.
An unresolved condition may have stopped removal at one assembly. The project lead needs that issue resolved or clearly held outside the next release; a new contractor does not make it disappear.
Turn the walk-through into a replacement scope
For an illustrative office, the revised package might include two untouched non-structural rooms, specified ceiling remnants and agreed debris removal, while holding a services enclosure pending review. The receiving contractor separately identifies repairs to already exposed surfaces.
Compare that list with the commercial handover checklist. The checklist records what a completed package delivers; the takeover assessment determines what must still be done to reach it.
Request assessment of the remainder
Contact Clearpath with the property, current project contact, completed areas and outstanding decisions. The interior-demolition service provides the ordinary removal route. Agree a fresh sequence for accepted work without assuming emergency mobilisation or inheriting an earlier completion promise.
