Name the person giving instructions

Identify who is authorised to instruct the clear-out and which decisions they can confirm. Record unresolved ownership separately. This sheet does not establish legal authority, resolve a tenancy disagreement or decide whether another person's property can be disposed of. Keep disputed items out of the confirmed removal list.

Use more than a room label

A room label can hide a mixture of unwanted contents and belongings that stay. Give important items or groups a clear reference and use keep, remove or do not remove pending confirmation. Describe the retained location where relevant. Share only the information necessary to identify the items; avoid including private papers or customer information in photographs.

Keep fixed fittings outside the contents list

Furniture and loose contents differ from fitted cabinets, fixtures and parts of the building. If the request includes both, make two lists and ask for the demolition scope to be assessed separately. Flag appliances, chemicals, batteries and unusual items before making any general collection assumption.

Complete the disposition register

Review the disposition register with the person directing the work before the property clear-out enquiry. Record changes explicitly so an earlier list does not remain in circulation. Donation and reuse need confirmed recipients and handling arrangements; the salvage inventory helps organise those questions without promising acceptance.
