Replace the word clean with an observable scope

Clean can mean loose debris collected, an agreed removal area handed over, or a detailed clean after all renovation trades finish. Those are different appointments. Ask which surfaces, spaces and materials are included at the end of demolition. Do not infer that a removal estimate includes finished-building cleaning or treatment of hidden contamination.

Include the route and retained areas

Identify whether the carrying route and shared loading area are part of the agreed cleanup. Record existing conditions and building requirements before work. Ask how the agreed result will be reviewed, without inventing a universal broom-clean or dust-free standard. The wording should describe this project, not rely on different parties' interpretations of the same label.

Keep specialist clearance separate

An ordinary cleanup acknowledgement is not a hazardous-material clearance, air-quality assessment or approval for occupancy. If specialist work has its own completion evidence, keep that requirement and responsible party explicit. Do not use a photograph of a tidy floor to close an unresolved survey or remediation item.

Sequence later cleaning around the next trades

Ask the following trades and building representative when finish cleaning is useful and who arranges it. A room may receive more dust or debris during rebuilding. Bring the agreed demolition condition into the commercial handover checklist, while keeping any later cleaning service as its own confirmed scope.
