Flag affected systems before pricing removal

Show known sprinklers, alarms, emergency lighting and controlled doors on the scope information where relevant. Ask the building's responsible professionals whether the proposed removal affects them. A tenant fixture list cannot establish which components belong to a shared life-safety system, and a demolition contractor's estimate is not authority to disable it.

Resolve the permit interface

Toronto provides a permit path for stand-alone fire and security upgrades and explains that life-safety alterations can be included in a wider additions or alterations permit. Ask the designer which arrangement applies to the actual work. Keep the system drawings and demolition limits consistent, especially when partitions, ceilings or exits are changing.

Assign interruption and restoration decisions

Ask the building manager and responsible specialists who authorises any interruption, what notifications and alternative measures are required, and who confirms restoration. Toronto Fire Services provides local command contacts for fire-prevention questions. Do not bypass alarms, cover devices or isolate valves as site preparation. This page does not prescribe a fire watch or claim Clearpath provides fire-system work.

Keep the unresolved interface out of ordinary removal

Record which work depends on specialist attendance or approval, and who tells the removal crew it can proceed. Recheck that dependency if the design changes. Carry completion evidence into the commercial handover checklist without treating an empty unit as proof that its shared systems are ready for use.
